Training in teaching and learning in higher education
Teaching expertise is a requirement
Teaching expertise is a requirement for appointment to a permanent teaching position at Lund University. Teaching expertise is based on a minimum of five weeks of training in teaching and learning in higher education (or equivalent qualifications).
To be promoted, you will also need to develop your teaching expertise, which you can do through courses in teaching and learning in higher education.
Doctoral students and supervision
Doctoral students who teach are expected to undergo at least two weeks of training in teaching and learning in higher education.
Training in doctoral supervision is available to teaching staff who have, or are facing, the task of supervising doctoral students. A minimum of one week of training in doctoral supervision is a requirement for supervising doctoral students.
The respective faculties are responsible for the training in teaching and learning in higher education. University-wide courses are provided by the Centre for Educational Development (CED). Courses that are faculty specific are provided by the faculties themselves, often in collaboration with CED.
