The University Board decided in June to propose Erik Renström as Vice-Chancellor for the next three-year term of office. The next step is to appoint a deputy vice-chancellor. Applications and nominations can now be submitted for this position – the closing date is  14 September.

Lund University is now seeking a deputy vice-chancellor who, together with the Vice-Chancellor, will help to develop the University. The deputy vice-chancellor acts as the deputy to the Vice-Chancellor and serves for the duration of the Vice-Chancellor’s term of office.

“At Lund University, the Vice-Chancellor and deputy vice-chancellor are expected to work as a team, complementing one another and leading the University together. That is why we have the same person specification when recruiting a deputy vice-chancellor as we did when recruiting a Vice-Chancellor,” says Ingrid Petersson, chair of the University Board and the  Recruitment Committee.

The stated requirements stipulate that the deputy vice-chancellor is to be a professor with a strong academic background, an experienced and clear-sighted academic leader and manager with personal integrity and the ability to take decisive action.

“Within the Recruitment Committee we are keen to attract a large number of qualified candidates for the role, so we would really like to encourage staff and students to nominate suitable candidates and interested individuals to apply,” says Ingrid Petersson.
