The aim of the exchange programme is to strengthen the university’s global engagement and provide technical and administrative staff with opportunities for professional development. As a participant, you will have the chance to compare working methods and processes with colleagues at Stellenbosch University, take part in online discussions and workshops, and undertake work shadowing on site in South Africa.
You are expected to take part in both the digital and in-person parts of the programme. The exchange also involves hosting a colleague from Stellenbosch University for job shadowing in Lund in May 2027. The ability to offer job shadowing at your own workplace will therefore be taken into account in the selection process. It is also possible to take part simply by hosting a colleague from Stellenbosch University, without travelling to South Africa yourself.
Previous international experience is not a requirement. The selection process will take into account how well participants from Lund University and Stellenbosch University can be matched on the basis of their fields of work and interests.
Lund University has an established partnership with Stellenbosch University in the areas of research, education, student exchanges, innovation and collaboration. Stellenbosch University is one of Lund University’s global hub partners in southern Africa. Exchanges between technical and administrative staff have evolved from digital and face-to-face meetings into a bilateral programme involving participants from both universities.
Five participants from Lund University may be awarded an Erasmus+ ICM grant. The grant comprises 1,735 euros for travel and 190 euros per day for five days of the exchange and two days of travel. The grant is paid directly to the participant’s place of work.
