Do you have idea that contributes to sustainability? Now you can apply for funding from the Sustainability Fund to work on a new research idea or to find new sustainability solutions at the university.

Lund University's Sustainability Fund is a university-wide fund for ecological, social and economic sustainability. The fund now offers two opportunities for funding – one aimed at researchers and one aimed at all employees.

Sustainable Idea Exploration – for doctoral students and researchers at Lund University

This call is an opportunity for all researchers at Lund University to explore the innovative potential of their research and finance activities outside the scope of existing research projects. The aim is to support the development of early-stage innovative ideas from research projects that can contribute to sustainability.  Projects can receive funding of up to SEK 150,000.

Apply by: 24 November

Information meetings: 20 October and 12 November at 12:00-12:45 – register by emailing sustainabilityfund [at] innovation [dot] lu [dot] se (sustainabilityfund[at]innovation[dot]lu[dot]se)

An example from former receivers:

LUCSUS doctoral student Stefan Schüller received SEK 150,000 through Sustainable Idea Exploration to bridge a critical knowledge gap in research on perennial grains. While the larger ERC project he is part of has mainly investigated the environmental benefits of crops like Kernza®—a perennial grain with deep roots—Schüller's grant focused on the consumer side. In close collaboration with local bakers and brewers, he explored the potential of new food products made from the grain.
