Within the framework of LU’s strategy for cultural collaboration, seed funding is now being offered for projects that integrate culture into education or research. This call for applications is aimed at researchers and teaching staff employed at Lund University.

The University’s Strategy for Cultural Collaboration 2018-2026 aims to deepen and broaden education, research and innovation – contributing to the development of new interdisciplinary courses and programmes, innovative teaching methods and research projects with artistic collaborations. A key starting point is the significance of culture and art for the University’s activities.

“Those of us working on the cultural strategy know that there are many lecturers and researchers at LU who would like to investigate and work on the relationship between their subjects and art and culture. This is something we would very much like to stimulate and support with this call for applications for seed funding, and we hope that lots of people take the opportunity to apply,” says Ann Kristin Wallengren, pro vice-chancellor for culture and pedagogical development.

As part of the implementation of the Strategy, the University is now offering seed funding for projects that integrate culture in education, teaching or research. The investment aims to enable staff at the University’s faculties to initiate or further develop collaborations in these areas.

Total budget for seed funding

The total budget amounts to SEK 300,000 and may be allocated to one or more projects. The funding may be used to cover working hours or other expenses linked to the implementation of the project.

The call for applications prioritises innovative projects. Examples include:

  • Courses that aim to integrate creative methods in teaching or assessment, for example through object-based learning
  • Research projects that make use of creative methods for the implementation or communication of research
