How does this affect you as a user?
A certificate used by the IT infrastructure will be replaced. This will in most cases force a prompt on your device(s) to trust the new certificate. This is a built-in security feature designed to protect your passwords. JUST THIS ONCE IT IS ACCEPTABLE (AND NEEDED) TO TRUST THE NEW CERTIFICATE. This prompt will be presented on your device(s) the next time you are in physical reach of the wireless network eduroam.
This will occur when you are physically at one of our campuses but can also occur if you visit buildings belonging to Lund Community or Region Skåne where eduroam in many cases are present. Every operating system (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux etc) presents this information in a different way for you as a user. In some cases, the operating system (in particular the case with non-standard smart phones) might prevent you from trusting the new certificate and can force you to replace the configuration of eduroam completely. If issues should arise, please contact LU Servicedesk, internally at 29000, or by e-mail to servicedesk [at] lu [dot] se. During a short period of time while troubleshooting, the wireless network LU Guest can be used.
This network does not require any authentication and has technical limitations but can be used to read user guides and other related support information at https://support.lu.se. Up to date user guides and other support related information will be available at https://support.lu.se ahead of April 26th.
