Do you want to take the opportunity to develop a COIL?

A COIL involves two different courses at two universities in different countries where students collaborate digitally during a part of the course. Each course follows its own syllabus, and the teachers grade their respective students. Virtual exchanges are a way to provide many students with international experience, as highlighted by Erik Renström in a recent blog post

For several years, Lund University has offered seed money to support teachers who, in collaboration with colleagues from EUGLOH, want to develop new courses or programs. This year, you can also apply for funds to develop a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). The application deadline is October 15th, and the call for applications is annual.

Create a COIL with EUGLOH Partners

As a teacher at Lund University, you can apply for up to 50,000 SEK in seed money for the development of COILs in collaboration with teachers from at least one other EUGLOH partner. The grants should cover Lund University's salary costs for the development. Additionally, you can apply for travel grants for personal travel up to 25,000 SEK.

The COIL part of the course should correspond to between 2 and 4 ECTS credits and be offered at bachelor or master level. Courses that will include a COIL component are expected to be run with regular course funding thereafter.

Develop a course or Joint Program

Teachers who want to develop a new course of 1-5 ECTS credits can apply for up to 100,000 SEK in seed money, as well as travel grants for personal travel up to 25,000 SEK.

The course should be interdisciplinary and can be online, face-to-face, or blended. It should provide teachers with the opportunity to test new pedagogical approaches for their subject.

There are also seed money available, up to 350,000 SEK, for the development of joint programs. The program should be planned in collaboration with teachers from at least one EUGLOH partner, but other universities can also be included, within or outside Europe.
