Doctoral degree conferment ceremony again 3 June

General doctoral degree conferment ceremony for all the faculties at Lund University on 3 June with
244 new doctors and 13 honorary doctors.

In a solemn ceremony in Lund Cathedral, the doctoral students who completed their research studies in the past year and successfully defended their doctoral theses at Lund University will have their degrees conferred. At the ceremony, degrees are also conferred on the faculties’ honorary doctors. Doctors who completed their PhDs 50 years ago become jubilee doctors.

The 3 June the procession sets off for the Cathedral from the Main University Building at 12:00.

Participating: 228 persons
Absent: 19 persons

Jubilee doctors: 46 persons
Participating: 31 persons
Absent: 15 persons

Honorary doctors: 13 persons

Livestreamed doctoral degree conferment ceremony

The doctoral degree conferment ceremony at Lund Cathedral will be livestreamed, starting at 12:00. The livestream will not be available for viewing after the ceremony.

The doctoral degree conferment ceremony begins with a welcoming address from the Vice-Chancellor, followed by the degree conferments of the nine faculties, when new doctors and honorary doctors receive their degrees and those who completed their PhDs 50 years ago become jubilee doctors. The entire ceremony is held in Latin.
