Evacuation of KC4 (a part of Kemicentrum)

As reported previously, employees at KC4 who were previously located at Byrålogen have been evacuated due to the risk of asbestos dust and other incidents. The evacuation of KC4 started on 23 May and testing will now take place and possible measures taken in that part of the building.

The evacuation concerns approximately 140 staff from the Finance Division, HR, LU Building, Research Services, Internal Audit and some of the staff at LU Service in the central administration who have now been moved to different locations. All affected divisions have now been offered short-term alternative workplaces for their employees that will apply from 20 June. Their temporary workplaces are meeting rooms, classrooms, computer rooms and empty offices, primarily in the buildings included in “shared teaching premises”.

The evacuation brings challenges for those affected and these temporary solutions mean that some things will not work as usual. Some employees will not have direct access to their work material and access to phones and mail may vary. We hope everyone across the organisation will respect and show understanding for the fact that it may be more difficult to reach those affected (email is best) and that, in some cases, their work may take longer to carry out.

Please note, the evacuation does not affect other staff at Kemicentrum, only those at KC4.

More information on the evacuation and its causes can be found on the Staff Pages (in Swedish)
