Future Week at Lund University 14–20 October 2019

Bild på en klocka

Which countries will be the superpowers of tomorrow? Or will the robots take over? How long will we work for – and on what terms? What will we eat in the future? And what does “transition” actually involve? These are some of the questions that Lund University’s researchers will be asking during the University’s Future Week.

The University will highlight urgent and crucial issues during a week in October on the theme of Transitions – Which do we have to make? Which do we want to make? And which would we rather avoid? Through lectures, debates, round table discussions, art and culture, the researchers will invite discussion on major future issues.

The programme also offers a show about how we make decisions in uncertain conditions, talks on future learning, the superpowers of tomorrow and artificial intelligence (AI), and a guided tour of the Botanical Garden on the theme of sustainable food. Campus Helsingborg will organise the popular Helsingborg Live event based on the week’s theme, and the Vattenhallen Science Centre will encourage children and young people to think about transitions and future issues.

The week rounds off with an event that gives you the chance to put questions about the future to our panel of researchers.
