How did your colleagues fare in this year’s Lundaloppet?

Running people.

On Saturday 4 May, Lund’s city centre was taken over by Lundaloppet. This year, there was a record number of participants, 8,179, who ran or walked in the races. Among those competing were 784 staff members from Lund University.

Lund University was one of the largest employers represented in the race. Many fleet-footed LU staff members took part and we had several runners among the top finishers.

Among the top 25 finishers in the 10-km race were the following LU staff members:

Category: Men, 10 km

4th: Gunnar Granlund, finishing time 34:11

5th: Josef Fritz, 34:13

11th: Marvin Plogmann, 36:06

Category: Women, 10 km

7th: Tova Hermodsson, 41:57

18th: Kira Lund, 44:59

Among the top 25 finishers in the 5-km race were the following LU staff members:

Category: Men, 5 km

9th: Mads Jeppesen, 17:29

14th: Jonas Fritze, 18:34

Category: Women, 5 km

16th: Katja Kozjek, 23:22

20th: Ofelia Karlsson, 23:49

Of the 913 LU employees who registered for this year’s Lundaloppet, 784 participated. This was a 11% no-show rate, which is significantly better than last year when as many as 26% did not turn up.

Of the 1001 LU employees who registered themselves initially, registered for the following races:

  • Standardloppet: 820 employees
  • Guldloppet: 181 employees

Among them there was 51 % women and 49 % men.
