Inauguration of the 350th anniversary

The time has finally come for the jubilee celebrations to be launched. On 19 December, we will inaugurate our jubilee with a ceremony and other festivities!

On Monday 19 December Lund University’s 350th anniversary will be inaugurated. The jubilee will last for little more than a year and include theme-based science weeks, open lectures, concerts, exhibitions and much more. The complete jubilee programme will be released at the inauguration.

Please note that the inaugural ceremony and dinner will be held exclusively in Swedish!

  • 10.00–14.00 Jubilee frenzy inside the main University building
  • 17:00  Inauguration ceremony, auditorium of the main University building (in Swedish!) (Sold out)
  • 18:00 Inaugural party, including dinner with entertainment, Academic Society building. (Dress code: Business attire.) (in Swedish!)

RSVP by 1 December if you would like to attend the ceremony and dinner by emailing LU350 [at] rektor [dot] lu [dot] se.

As there is limited seating at the ceremony and dinner, participation will be on a first come, first served basis. The cost of dinner is SEK 350 per person, all other items on the programme are free of charge. Payments are to be made out to plusgiro 15650-5, Lunds universitet. Remember to mark the payment with your name and “NÅFF”.

Public events in connection with the inauguration

Exhibition of art connected to Peder Winstrup

A unique collection of rarely shown paintings and prints from the University’s art collection have been selected to demonstrate the cultural context in which Peder Winstrup lived and worked in the 1600s. The exhibition will begin on 21 December and is held at the Historical Museum in Lund.
