International conference on researchers at risk – digital

Lund University is a member of Scholars at Risk, an international network that works to promote academic freedom and protect researchers at risk.

The Swedish section of Scholars at Risk (SAR-Sverige) consists of 20 Swedish higher education institutions, and is, through the University of Gothenburg, a project partner in the Horizon 2020-funded project Inspireurope. The aim of the project is to contribute to increased integration and employment among researchers at risk through providing more career support and policy influence.

On 8 June, Inspireurope is arranging its first Stakeholder Forum, which will be opened by Frédérique Vidal, France’s minister of higher education. The morning session will cover the importance of academic freedom for the quality of research, and the conditions and possibilities for researchers at risk. Two workshops will be held in the afternoon – one on mentoring for researchers at risk and another on non-academic careers for researchers.
