New tool inventories software licences

During March, a new licence inventory tool, Xensam, will be installed on all computers within “klient.lu.se” at Lund University.

(“Klient.lu.se” computers are what are sometimes referred to as managed computers and also include computers connected to EGA/EGS.)

The purpose of Xensam is to simplify and improve the University's software licence management.

You do not need to do anything. For users, the installation will not entail any change in working methods. The computer’s performance will not be affected either.

Update on the replacement of the chemical management system

Lund University’s current chemical management system, KLARA, is to be phased out by the supplier in 2027.

To ensure that the system that replaces it fulfils the University's requirements, we have started a project to find a new supplier and a new chemical management system.

Within the project, it has been decided to procure a chemical system together with the University of Gothenburg, Linköping University, Linnaeus University and Chalmers University of Technology. Chalmers is coordinating and leading the procurement process. Participating universities contribute expertise in various areas, such as chemical safety and procurement.
