New guidelines for business travel and new options for rail travel in Europe

Dining interior in at train.

From 1 January 2026, new guidelines for business travel apply. The rules are broadly the same as before, except with regards to air travel. The new guidelines mean that you are to choose biofuel where this is possible and avoid connecting flights. This is to reduce climate impact.

Regulations and general recommendations have been collated into a single document to make it easier to find information and understand what to do when you undertake business travel.

Once again, the rules are broadly unchanged, although two new recommendations apply to air travel:

  • choose biofuel tickets where possible
  • avoid connecting flights to minimise climate impact

Biofuel tickets are currently mainly offered by SAS and can be booked via our travel agent’s personal service. The option is not yet available in the self-service booking system.

New app for electronic interrail passes

If you travel abroad by train, you can now use electronic interrail passes. To activate and manage the pass, download the app Rail Planner from the AppStore or Google Play and follow the instructions in the app. The electronic version costs an additional DKK 199 per pass.

More information is available on the Interrail website: interrail.eu
