A new semester and development of our education continues

A new semester, a new academic year – and the Education Board is continuing its work on education in transition and international impact. In line with this, the Board will devote a lot of time during the autumn to quality assurance and enhancement issues and a revised Education Strategy.

An important springboard for the Board’s work was the study visit to Brussels, funded by Erasmus+, that board members made in late May. The visit was hosted by LERU and the interesting programme was produced in cooperation with Lärosäten Syd’s Brussels Office. On the agenda were European education policy, cross-border cooperation and European universities (EUGLOH).

The Board also visited the European Parliament and the permanent representation of Sweden to the EU.

The study visit gave the Board valuable insights into highly topical international education issues, but was also an important team-building activity at the start of the Board’s three-year term of office. One insight was the importance of being involved at an early stage to influence developments and how we can make better use of the existing channels ¬such as LERU, EUA and Sweden’s representation in Brussels.
