Platform for strategic work will inspire and guide

Collage from campus.

There is now a new platform for strategic work at Lund University. It will guide and inspire the developments the University needs in order to strengthen competitiveness and continue to be a world-class university. The platform for strategic work applies for 2023 and 2024.

The platform consists of four prioritised areas with associated measures: Strong research today and for the future, Education in transition, A creative learning and work environment, and Democracy and global engagement.

It is to function as guidance for the entire organisation and is a tool to focus, accelerate, structure and inspire development work. It also entails a new way of working together to sharpen both core activities and support activities through ongoing dialogue between different parts of the University.

The platform was produced by the University Management in dialogue with the Vice-Chancellor’s Management Council, which includes the deans, and is based on the strategic plan and the University’s external analysis.

New and faster ways to act in an unpredictable world

The platform was developed because the world around us is more unpredictable and changeable than before and the University’s conditions are more complex. We therefore need to act in new and faster ways and use our collective capabilities in order for Lund University to continue to be relevant, sought after and in demand, and a world-class university.

The platform will function as a basis for the University’s plan of operations and the university-wide boards’ and councils’ plans of operations. It will also be an inspiration for the strategy and prioritisation work of faculties, departments and the central administration.

The decision on the platform for strategic work 2023-2024 was taken by the Vice-Chancellor on 10 November.
