Propose candidates for the spring 2026 election of academic staff representatives to the University Board

The Electoral College is now starting the process of appointing three new academic staff representatives to the University Board for the next term of office. The term of office for the three current members ends on 30 April 2026, and the new members will be appointed for the period 1 May 2026 to 30 April 2029.

The process of appointing academic staff representatives is regulated by the Higher Education Ordinance and the election is carried out in accordance with Lund University’s Rules of Procedure and Appointment Rules.

Eligible candidates

Eligible candidates are individuals employed as academic staff in accordance with Lund University’s Rules of Procedure and Appointment Rules, namely professor, visiting professor, adjunct professor, senior lecturer, adjunct senior lecturer, associate senior lecturer, postdoctoral fellow, lecturer and adjunct lecturer.

Nomination period 

The nomination period is between 9 February and 2 March 2026.

All employees at Lund University have the right to nominate candidates, and self-nominations are allowed. Before a nomination is submitted, the person making the nomination is responsible for ensuring that the candidate is eligible, has been informed about the nomination and would accept the assignment. 

The following enclosures must accompany the nomination:

  • The candidate’s CV (max. two pages), with special emphasis on management and elected office assignments
  • Nomination statement (max. 250 words)

Criteria for academic staff representatives

The qualities and experience that are particularly important for the assignment are:

  • Very strong background in research and education at Lund University
  • An understanding of the activities of the entire University 
  • Responsiveness and clarity
  • Experience of academic management or elected office assignments

In terms of composition, the aim is to have broad representation from the faculties as well as a good gender balance and a group that can work well together.
