Save-the-date: Future Week 12-18 October 2020
Lund University held its first Future Week in October 2019. The highly appreciated event attracted over 2 500 visitors. The dates and theme for Future Week 2020 have now been decided. Save the dates 12–18 October 2020 and participate in the theme Forces in Motion.
Which large and small forces have been set in motion – in society and in nature – and how can these affect our future? And what counterforces exist?
Take the opportunity to participate in the theme. Topics covered could include forces of nature or the climate’s tipping points, forces that are fighting to save the planet, for democracy and a better life, or strong forces that want something completely different.
Another focus issue could be the media and political forces that fight for power over world views, and what is true or not true. Demographic forces will inevitably affect the future, as will economic and technological trends. Or other questions could be asked – What are the forces that will influence our future health and wellbeing? Where will people find sources of inner strength? What is the future role of religion? What power does art have in a constantly changing world?
About Future Week
The aim is for Future Week to be a vantage point for decision-makers, opinion leaders and other interested parties. It is to present current research and provide a forum for urgent and crucial issues. The week is a golden opportunity for everyone to highlight their different areas – under a joint theme.
In January, the Future Week project team will circulate an invitation to a start-up meeting. More information will be published here on the Staff Pages and on the webpage: www.lu.se/framtidsveckan
