Around 500 people gathered behind Lund University’s banner in the LundaPride parade, which took place for the fourth time on 20 September.

As in previous years, the university invited staff and students to a gathering at Lundagård prior to the parade. The group then marched together in the procession behind the university’s banner.

Despite the rain, there was a large turnout and the atmosphere was lively. University staff and students took part in the parade alongside the student organisations, which brought together several thousand people on the route from Lundagård to Stadsparken.

– LundaPride is an important event promoting openness, inclusion and everyone’s right to live their lives on their own terms. Lund University should be a place where people feel welcome and respected, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. That is why we are taking part in the Pride parade, says Pro-Vice-Chancellor Jimmie Kristensson.

After the parade, the participants gathered in Stadsparken, where the day continued with speeches and entertainment. Student Health Services were present to provide information and answer questions about sexual health and students’ wellbeing.
