Teaching staff representatives elected to the University Board

After the spring’s nomination process, the Electoral College has now appointed new teaching staff representatives to the Lund University Board. The election is for the term of office running from 1 May 2026 to 30 April 2029.

The nomination process began in February, and all University staff had the opportunity to put forward candidates. The University Board is responsible for appointing teaching staff representatives in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the University’s Rules of Procedure. 

Teaching staff representatives on the University Board

The Electoral College decided to appoint the following individuals as new teaching staff representatives on the University Board. 

  • Sara Ek, professor at the Department of Immunotechnology, LTH
  • Alexander Maurits, senior lecturer in church history at the Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology.
  • Sophia Zackrisson, professor of diagnostic radiology, Faculty of Medicine.

About the University Board

The University Board is the highest decision-making body at Lund University. The Board consists of the Vice-Chancellor, external members appointed by the Government, three teaching staff representatives and three student representatives. The external members for the current term of office were appointed by the Government in autumn 2024.
