Transition of Primula system to SSC (Statens servicecenter) postponed until October 2018

During the spring, the implementation of two major, technically demanding projects was planned: the transition of LU’s salary services to Statens servicecenter, SSC, and Ladok3. As the projects have proceeded, it has become clear that there are major technical risks in implementing both projects simultaneously. The University director has therefore decided to postpone the technical switch to SSC until early October 2018.

Why is the project to join SSC the one to be postponed?

After a dialogue with the collaboration partners for both projects, in which advantages and disadvantages were carefully considered, the University director decided that postponing the transition to SSC was most appropriate. Firstly, the consequences for the Ladok3 project would be greater and, secondly, there are major advantages in adopting a longer timeframe for SSC. This will enable the project to quality-assure the various parts of the transition, avoid temporary solutions, and have more time to prepare the organisation.

What does postponing the technical part of the project mean?

It means that the other parts of the project will continue as planned. Only the technical implementation is being postponed – i.e. the actual transition to SSC Primula. Among other things, this means that the salary office staff will be employed by SSC in April as planned. However, they will continue to work as they do today, i.e. with the same procedures and in the same system support function (LU’s Primula).

What does this change entail for me as an employee?

For employees, it entails that everything will continue to work exactly as it does today with regard to salary payment, managing approved leave, travel expenses, annual leave, etc. You will work according to the same procedures and contact the same people as you do today. Only in October, with the transition to the new technical system (Primula – SSC), will procedures and contact channels change. You can continue to contact the salary office for questions concerning salary-related matters, using the same telephone numbers and email addresses as before.

What will happen during the spring?

During the spring and autumn, we will inform you of what you can do to prepare for the transition to SSC, how it affects you as an employee, and how you are to proceed during the phase in September when Primula will be closed down in view of the transition to SSC.
