Fokus Framtid: Democracy at the Crossroads

Democracy is being tested – in public discourse, in universities, in journalism, and in the fragile space between peace and freedom. At Fokus framtid, proudly hosted by Lund Humanities Village, speakers from the U.S. and Europe gather in Lund to engage with us on the defining democratic questions of our time, including the role of universities. From the images that shape democracy to the challenges of covering Trump’s America, from academic freedom to Ukraine and global responsibility, this is a conversation we cannot afford to postpone.

Resnick, Kurt Deketelaere, Jonas Hafström, Erik Renström, Ela Drazkiewicz, Elsa Hedling and students for an afternoon of urgent reflection, insight, and public conversation moderated by Johannes Persson, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Theology at Lund University.. With music by Tom & Robert’s Back Porch Blues Show, the programme brings together global and local voices, student perspectives, and the civic imagination needed for the future.
