Researchers on social media share their experiences and tips

Welcome to a digital meeting in which Lund researchers who are active on social media will share their insights and tips.
For many researchers, social media is an opportunity to interact with wider society, from colleagues in the research community and other experts to politicians, journalists and decision-makers. However, approaches to, and benefits from, a social media presence vary. At this digital lunch meeting, Lund researchers share their insights and experiences, mainly from Twitter and LinkedIn.
The event is organised by Corporate Communications.

Speakers on 23 November
Kimberly Nicholas is a climate scientist, author, and speaker. She uses social media to get inspiration for new research ideas, build a community of experts to get quick answers from, and share research findings to help create impact. She was rated the top researcher on social media at Lund University by the 2022 TwiLi (Twitter/LinkedIn) Index for Sweden.
Markus Lahtinen is a security researcher at the School of Economics and Management and an expert on camera surveillance. He has been active on Linkedin for ten years. For him, a presence on the channel is an opportunity to formulate his thoughts and insights in a rapidly changing world. General education gives an edge in his own research – and the pay-off can be considerable, according to Lahtinen.
Louise Bringselius conducts research on trust, governance and leadership at the School of Economics and Management. She is active on both LinkedIn and Twitter, using the channels in slightly different ways for different target groups. Thanks to social media, she finds that her research achieves greater impact.
