Erik Renström, vice-chancellor
The vice-chancellor has overall responsibility for the activities of the entire University and is responsible for leading the organisation under the University Board. This includes monitoring the organisation and taking initiatives for renewal and change. The vice-chancellor issues the regulations that are required and has a general supervisory duty regarding the organisation.
Erik Renström is the University’s vice-chancellor for the term of office from 1 January 2021 until 31 December 2026.
Erik Renström is a professor of experimental endocrinology and was most recently dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Lund University.
Erik Renström highlights fives areas that express the direction he wants Lund University to move in. These include quality, creativity, integrity, communication and character. This ambition involves, in various ways, our courses and study programmes, research and not least external engagement. In addition, it all concludes with a focus on campus development.
