Description

In a collaborative network of Swedish & international researchers, our aim is to measure, individualize and improve treatment outcomes and health in individuals with psychiatric disorders. We focus on patients' own assessments, the development of self-rating scales & applications, and clinically relevant biological markers. One project aims to investigate the effect of lifestyle intervention on metabolic syndrome in people with serious mental illness (SMI) through combining self-assessment with physiological markers. Another project investigates the medical consequences of different segments/sub-diagnoses of bipolar disorder by analyzing Swedish national registry data. We also study the association between autism and schizophrenia and psychopathological differences between Asperger syndrome and schizotypal disorder in adults. Furthermore we initiated descriptive and qualitative studies of individuals with SMI with a view to better understand, and elucidate, core ‘everyday problems’.
