Description

Being diagnosed with a rheumatic disease entails significant life changes, especially when it occurs during childhood or adolescence. Our research encompasses several rheumatic and inflammatory conditions, with a particular focus on juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), but also other diseases such as Kawasaki's disease and MIS-C (hyperinflammation following COVID-19 infection). We conduct both clinical and laboratory-based research, ranging from epidemiological studies on prognosis and comorbidity to immunological mechanisms in the body and its target organs. By combining clinical and laboratory-based methods, we have a strong foundation for exploring a range of questions, aiming to map the course of diseases, their evolution over time, and possible treatment strategies.
