Description

By combining the knowledge of clinically active medical doctors and researchers we believe that we can rapidly and effectively gain knowledge on the spectral properties of skin cancer and giant cell arthritis and translate this into imaging tools for tumor border outlining and diagnosis. Through monitoring of blood flow perfusion during and following periorbital reconstructive surgery we aim to update surgical techniques and thereby improving surgical outcome and reduce patient suffering. The research group is part of the research infrastructure Lund University Photoacoustic Center which is an interdisciplinary center that have been established at the Faculty of Medicine and Lund University of Technology. The infrastructure is a platform for innovation of new technology, medical basic research, preclinical research and clinical implementation and is open for new collaborations and for external researchers.
