The programme welcomes interdisciplinary ideas that span scientific, technological, clinical, ethical, economic, and societal perspectives on the development and delivery of tomorrow’s medical treatments.
About the RAMP-UP Programme
RAMP-UP (Regenerative Medicine and Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products – United for PhD Excellence) is an international MSCA CoFund doctoral programme supported by an €8.3 million EU Horizon grant. Coordinated by the Lund Stem Cell Center and the Strategic Research Area StemTherapy at Lund University’s Faculty of Medicine, the programme is delivered in collaboration with Leiden University Medical Center, the Technical University of Denmark, Hannover Medical School, and more than 30 partners from academia, healthcare, industry, and regulatory sectors.
RAMP-UP focuses on developing innovative doctoral research across the full ATMP value chain: from scientific discovery and engineering to ethical, legal, and societal considerations and implementation in the clinic. These advanced therapies, based on cells, genes, and tissues, hold the potential to transform how we alleviate, treat and cure diseases like cancer, degenerative conditions, and rare disorders.
In total, 55 PhD candidates will be recruited across two cohorts (including 25 at Lund University) starting in autumn 2026. Each will take part in a joint European training programme bridging disciplines and sectors.
