Joint Master Degree programmes
An Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) is an Erasmus+ programme of study developed and run by higher education institutions from at least three European countries (program countries). Higher education institutions from countries outside Europe (partner countries) are encouraged to participate. The purpose of the programme is to launch the EU as a “Centre d´Excellence” for EMJMD programmes, to attract the best students and increase the students’ employability.
Apply for funding through EMJMD for:
- Preparatory visits between participating countries
- Developing the EMJMD programme 1 year
- Scholarships for students admitted to a programme and funding for invited teaching staff
The Master’s programmes (1–2 years) shall include mandatory mobility in at least two countries within the consortium. Studies shall result in a Joint or a Double/Multiple Degree.
Depending on the duration of the approved EMJMD (1 to 2 years) and whether the consortium chooses to undertake a preparatory year, the consortium will receive a grant agreement for a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 years to finance 4 consecutive student intakes. The EMJMD grant for the preparatory year and the four student intakes would amount to a maximum of EUR 5.1 million.
