Nordplus/Nordlys for mobility within the Nordic countries

Find funding for teaching and research activities within the Nordic countries.

Nordplus is the Nordic Council of Ministers’ programme for supporting collaboration between the Nordic and Baltic countries. Nordlys is a project within Nordplus that promotes interdisciplinary teaching and research mobility with the Nordic countries.

Nordplus is a programme that supports collaboration between the Nordic and Baltic countries. Nordplus offers funding for mobility, special projects, networking activities, administrator exchanges and teaching staff scholarships.

Last day to apply is usually 1 March.

Nordlys scholarship for researchers and teaching staff

Through Nordlys you can apply for funding to teach or conduct research at a Nordic partner university which does not have an established partnership with your department/faculty. This includes teaching and researching subjects which are not offered at Lund University. The exchange must be linked to concrete and integrated educational activities. This might include supervision and development of teaching resources.

The planned activities must be clearly stated in the application, with an attached invitation from the host university. The stay must involve at least five days or eight hours of teaching. Funding can be applied for to reimburse travel and other expenses in connection with your stay abroad. The final report shall be submitted by the staff member after returning home.

Reimbursement from Nordlys scholarships

For subsistence: EUR 70 per day/ EUR 355 per week/ EUR 1 065 per month. 
For travel: EUR 330 for travel to Denmark, Finland and Norway, EUR 660 for travel to the Faroe Islands and Iceland, EUR 1 300 for travel to Greenland.

Application for teaching and research mobility

Applications are accepted on a regular basis, ’first come, first served’ principle applies. The application shall include:

  • report of the higher education institution(s) that will be visited
  • the purpose of the visit
  • length of the visit.

Your application shall be signed by you and the head of your department. Send your completed application to External Relations, Petra Moser-Nørgaard, internal mailing code 27, or externally: Box 117, 221 00 Lund.
