Funding your research project

Prisma is an application and case management system used by several Swedish research funding bodies, including Forte, Formas and the Swedish Research Council. Prisma handles all aspects of the research funding application process.

Applications to Formas: Formas requests, amongst other things, information on Lund University’s annual turnover and number of employees. 

Create a personal account in Prisma

To apply for research funding via Prisma, you first need to create an account in ORCID and then a personal account in Prisma.

1. Create an ORCID account
   ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is an international register for researchers. An ORCID ID is mandatory in Prisma.
   Go to the ORCID website and create an account. Once you have registered, you will receive a personal 16-digit ORCID number – save it, as you will need it later.

2. Create a personal account in Prisma
   Go to Prisma and select “Create personal account”, then “Create personal account with SWAMID”.
   Your account will then be linked to your Lucat ID at Lund University. Follow the instructions.

3. Activate your account in Prisma
   Once you have created the account, you will receive an email with your username and password. Follow the instructions in the email to activate the account.
    

   Please note that certain calls for proposals in Prisma cannot be applied for by you as a researcher, but instead by the organisation, i.e. Lund University. The application is then created via the University’s Prisma account, and the researcher responsible for the application is invited to act as project manager to finalise the application in the system. Research Services is responsible for Lund University’s organisational applications in Prisma.
