Unauthorised persons at the workplace

Since many of the University’s premises are open during the day it is very likely that you will encounter people who are not there to study or visit one of your colleagues. Here is some advice on what to do.

Summon the University security guard

If you suspect that an unauthorised person has entered your workplace, notify the University security guard immediately by calling +46 46 222 07 00 or the local connection 20 700. No concern is too small.

Ask the person if they are looking for someone

You can ask the person if they are looking for someone. Usually, this is enough to make them leave the premises.

Stay calm and take threats seriously

Unauthorised persons occasionally become threatening and it is important for you to stay calm. It is very important that you remain at a distance and that you take all threats seriously. Attract the attention of your colleagues and immediately summon the University security guard via the security control centre.

The general rule is that all threats are to be reported to the police. The University security office can help you with this.

In case of a suspected break-in

If you discover a possible break-in, notify the University security guard immediately by calling the security control cente. Do not enter the area where you suspect a break-in has occurred, but rather seal off the area, if possible, to prevent others from entering as well. The University security guard will call for help from the University security office who will draw up a police report based on the incident reported by you.

In case of emergency, always call 112!

If you are calling via your office landline, dial 0-112.
