Process methodology
Internal consultants at the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Strategic Development Office, provides support in process mapping.
Process methodology - turning insight into impact
One of the methods we use in development work is the process methodology. We provide support in planning, facilitating, and documenting process mapping activities. This approach is especially powerful when you want to:
- create a shared understanding among all stakeholders,
- clarify roles and responsibilities across the process,
- establish a more consistent and efficient way of working,
- build robust, well-functioning processes,
- reduce dependency on individuals and strengthen backup capabilities,
- uncover opportunities for increased efficiency, and
- identify areas for future development and improvement.
The goal of process mapping is to achieve a holistic understanding and enable development and improvement.
Some voices from those how have used the methodology
“Our process review led to improved internal communication and also gave us a better understanding of everything our colleagues contribute.”
“What may appear to be a seamless operation from the outside is actually built on numerous steps, decisions, activities, and supporting materials. The process mapping enabled us to streamline our way of working, strengthen collaboration, and highlight each other’s competencies.”

Mapped processes
Within the central administration, many processes have been mapped but some were developed several years ago.
If you are interested in seeing some of the process maps, please email your request to any of the persons in contacts, in the right side of this window.
KIA Consultant also provided support in process reviews at the department level. The departments themselves own the results of these reviews.
