On 18 August, the world arrives in Lund – help us welcome it!

Arrival Day, taking place on 18 August, is Lund University’s official welcome day for new international students. We estimate that around 1,500 students will arrive on this day. Already at Copenhagen Airport, students are met by staff and mentors who guide them all the way to AF Borgen, where the main welcome event takes place.

Arrival Day offers several important services that are only available on this day. Students can, for example:

  • Collect keys to their accommodation via LU Accommodation or AF Bostäder
  • Receive practical information from the International Desk
  • Access services such as SIM cards, and meet representatives from Skånetrafiken and the City of Lund
  • Get help if they have not yet found accommodation

To make arrivals as smooth as possible, buses will also run between Lund Central Station, AF Borgen and the students’ accommodation in Lund.

Here is a short video that gives a good picture of what Arrival Day is like:

Would you like to help?

To provide an even warmer and well-organised welcome, we are now inviting Lund University employees to help out during Arrival Day. You can contribute, for example, by:

  • Meeting students at Copenhagen Airport (Kastrup)
  • Welcoming students at Lund Central Station
  • Being a host at AF Borgen
  • Driving minibuses between different accommodations in Lund

Whether you can help for an hour or for the whole day, your contribution is greatly appreciated. We promise an eventful and meaningful day where you will experience another side of Lund University’s international work, collaborate with colleagues from across the university, and meet many happy and excited students. Ask your local manager if you can assist with this within your normal working hours. Fun and rewarding professional development – quite simply!
