Ingrid Petersson completed an international Master’s degree in Economics at Uppsala University in 1982 and has subsequently had a long career in Swedish public administration. Among other positions, she has been First Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, and State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture. For four years in the early 2000s, she was Director General of the National Social Insurance Board, and she has also worked in the private sector in Astra Zeneca’s global research organisation.
Ingrid Petersson is also a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and the Royal Swedish Agricultural Academy.
Petersson has had, and continues to have, several board roles, she is currently a board member of the Swedish Forest Agency. Her previous roles include positions on the board at the National Board of Health and Welfare, Swedish Public Employment Service, Swedish Tourist Association and Stockholm Environment Institute. She has also been the Chairperson of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.
At present, Ingrid Petersson is the Chairperson for Swedish Government Office inquiries focusing on enhanced food security and the efficient organisation of state research funding.
Ingrid Petersson succeeds Jonas Hafström.
