Björn Svensson, director of studies and lecturer at the Department of Informatics at LUSEM is also the director of the Bachelor’s programme in Design of Information Systems.

Björn was an early adopter of constructive and innovative ways to implement generative AI in information systems education. Björn both highlights and creates understanding of how generative AI is built and works, and how it can be applied in the work to design information systems.

Björn is often mentioned in student surveys for his exceptional teaching skills. In addition to his educational approach, Björn is repeatedly mentioned for his strong commitment to student learning. Students in Björn’s programme point out that he sets great store by being available, both in the department during “office hours” and in connection with lectures. Björn is often described by students as an inclusive teaching staff member who actively promotes a safe and positive climate in his classroom.

Per Carlsson, senior lecturer at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, is described as a teaching staff member who loves to teach and who really enjoys the contact with students and teaching new students aquatic ecology. Per is genuinely a teaching staff member that students can give feedback to during their studies. He appreciates it even more if he gets feedback in real time so that he can immediately make adjustments for the students in front of him.

Per is described as a teaching staff member who, regardless of students’ backgrounds, respects everyone and promotes an inclusive learning environment. Per is great at getting students to become engaged and inspired precisely because he loves his subject and is passionate about teaching.
