Lund University is Sweden’s eighth most attractive employer, according to Academic Work

Universitetshuset i Lund.

Employment agency Academic Work conduct the Young Professional Attraction Index (YPAI) survey annually, in close collaboration with polling firm Kantar. Their survey asks young people in various professional categories which employer they would most like to work for, and what makes an employer attractive.

The aim of the study is to help companies and organisations to understand, attract and develop the workforce of tomorrow.

The Young Professional Attraction Index (YPAI) is an annual survey based on data from more than 4,740 respondents. It reveals what the target audience feel is most important when choosing an employer.

Based on responses to the question of which employer they would most like to work for, these were the top 10:

  1. IKEA
  2. Novo Nordisk
  3. Google
  4. Microsoft
  5. Apple
  6. Volvo Group
  7. Afry
  8. Lunds University
  9. Spotify
  10. EY

The fact that Lund University came eighth was big news, we were not even in the top 100 before. We are the only university to place in the top ten, after us came Stockholm University in 25th place followed and Karolinska Institutet at number 42.

When asked what they want from their employer, the majority responded: Good colleagues and work environment, competitive salary, flexibility and work-life balance along with career and personal development opportunities.
