If something goes wrong while you are travelling

If you find yourself in an emergency situation abroad and urgently need help, e.g. following an accident, illness, admission to hospital or requiring repatriation:

  • Contact your line manager and let them know what has happened, how you are doing and how you can be reached.

Remember to report your illness in the usual way, and to register an insurance claim with the Swedish Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency.

If you are the victim of crime, such as threats, violence, theft, or if you lose University property such as computers, keys, access cards etc:

  • Report this to the local police.
  • Fill in an incident report. You can log in using your Lucat ID.
    Go to the incident report form
  • You can also call the University’s emergency number +46 46 222 07 00. Where necessary, they can pass on information to the University security control centre or the officer on standby.

In the event of war or a crisis, natural disaster or major accident

  • Follow the guidance and recommendations of the country you are in.
  • Contact your line manager and let them know what has happened, how you are doing and how you can be reached.
  • Stay in touch with your loved ones and your place of work while the critical situation is ongoing.
  • Contact the embassy or consulate, so that you can get help.

  • Follow events via local media and the embassy’s travel information.
  • If you have a smartphone, stay up to date on your destination by using the UD resklar app. Remember to turn on location services and push notifications.
