Cost of parking to increase by 25 per cent this autumn

From the autumn, the University will have to pay VAT on income from employees’ semester parking permits, since the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) has taken a new position on employers offering parking spaces to their employees.

This means that the price of the autumn semester permit will be 25 per cent higher.

Prices for the autumn semester parking permits for employees will be:

Zone A: SEK 790
Zone B: SEK 1080
Zone C: SEK 1380
Budget Zone: SEK 400
Zone MV: SEK 2630

Permits for the autumn are available to purchase from 14 August, at parkering.lu.se

The price of both day tickets and students’ parking permits will remain unchanged since they already include VAT.

Further changes to the University’s range of parking permits and prices will be necessary from 1 January 2024. The matter is currently being considered and a decision is expected during the autumn.
