Apply for STINT Teaching Sabbatical 2025

A city silouette.

Lund University can nominate up to three candidates for participation in the application round for STINT Teaching Sabbatical 2025

The STINT Teaching Sabbatical is a programme that offers researchers and teachers the opportunity to spend the autumn semester at one of STINT’s thirteen partner institutions in Botswana, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and the USA.

The programme aims to develop both individuals and institutions. By providing researchers and teachers who are passionate about teaching with international experiences based on their role as educators—rather than as researchers—STINT seeks to contribute to the renewal of higher education and the creation of new networks.

More information about the programme and the call for applications, as well as reports from previous fellows, can be found on STINT’s website: STINT Teaching Sabbatical

Internal nomination process at Lund University

Faculties and USV are hereby invited to nominate two candidates each. The nominee must hold a PhD, be employed, and be well integrated into Lund University’s activities.

The nomination must include:

  • Completed application form – available through the faculty’s international office/administration
  • CV – maximum 4 pages in PDF format (max 2 MB)
  • The faculty’s justification for nominating the candidate

Please note that all documents must be in English.

Submitted nominations will be reviewed by an assessment group appointed by the Education Board. The decision on which candidates the University will nominate to the programme will be made by the Education Board at its meeting on 3 September 2025.

Evaluation criteria

The assessment is based on the applicant’s teaching qualifications and motivation for the exchange, as well as the endorsement and justification provided by the head of department or equivalent. The applicant’s motivation should include a well-founded pedagogical rationale for what they aim to achieve through the exchange.

It should also clearly state:

  • How the exchange will contribute to the applicant’s own competence and teaching practice
  • How the experiences from the exchange will lead to the development of the pedagogical activities within the applicant’s home organization
  • How the exchange is relevant to and anchored in the applicant’s home organisation

Faculty nominations, including all documents, should be emailed to
