    "For many years there has been an on-going discussion about how academic freedom is being challenged in many parts of the world, including Sweden. And when even some of the strongest academic bastions in the world such as Harvard are now fighting for their independence against the American federal administration’s political directives, it is clear that academia has not been crying wolf. Academic freedom, like all the values associated with democracy, cannot be taken for granted and must be safeguarded and defended."
