One way is to choose the train when travelling within Europe. The University’s travel agent is constantly working to create better conditions for us to travel by train in Europe, and can book trips in some 30 countries.
As there is no framework agreement in place for train travel outside Sweden, international train tickets may be purchased by passengers themselves, either through their chosen agent (with online booking) or through Egencia’s personal service (by telephone). Bookings through your chosen agent are processed as expenses.

Travel profile to book a trip via Egencia
If you do not already have a travel profile, you must first apply for authority as a Traveller in Lucat. This also applies if you are to book travel for others, in which case you apply for authority as a Travel booker. In Lucat, you can view your authorisations under the heading: IT-employment group/Infrastructure – IT-service/Travel booking
In the night following your manager’s approval of your authorisation in Lucat, your details are transferred to Egencia, generating your travel profile. Guide to authorisations in Lucat.
