Have you taken the information security course? Protect yourself – and the whole University!

Hands using laptop for cyber attack.

All employees at Lund University who have an LU account must complete the mandatory basic information security course. The aim is to raise awareness of the risks that may exist when handling different types of information within the University’s operations.

The course provides knowledge about common threats and how you can reduce the risks in your day-to-day work. It is aimed at anyone with an LU account, including affiliates, and is available via Kompetensportalen. Completing this online course takes around 40 minutes. Managers with operational responsibility will follow up on implementation within their units.

To date, only around 2,700 staff members, around 33% of employees, have completed the course. The aim is for all staff to have completed the course as decided by the Vice-Chancellor (at least 75% by by 31 October 2025).

The course is based on material from the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB).

All staff are encouraged to prioritise this course. Secure information management is our shared responsibility, and together we can increase security for the whole organisation. If you have any questions, please contact informationssakerhet [at] lu [dot] se (informationssakerhet[at]lu[dot]se).
