Courses in research communication

Do you want your research to reach a wider audience?

The Lund University Outreach Academy offers courses for those who want to be better at communicating their research beyond academia. The courses provide practical tools and support for reaching out to the public, media, decision-makers, funding bodies and collaboration partners.

The courses, which are an element in the Lund University Outreach Academy, have been specifically produced for researchers who want to develop the ability to make their research comprehensible, relevant and engaging for different target groups – without compromising scientific quality.

Subject to availability, the University’s communications officers are welcome to take part in the courses. Unless otherwise stated, all the courses are conducted in English.

Background

Corporate Communication launched the Lund University Outreach Academy in autumn 2025. The initiative aims to strengthen researchers’ skills in research communication and make it easier to communicate research findings beyond the academic community.

Researchers and communications officers at the university primarily develop and teach the courses, often in collaboration.

Several of the courses are offered on a regular basis, but the selection is continuously developed based on needs and suggestions from the organisation.
