Change of telephony supplier – update
The quality assurance process for the new subscription has been completed. There will be a freeze period until 10 March during which no new telephony cases can be processed. If you have any questions, contact Service Desk.
There is a dedicated webpage for information on the change of supplier: New telephony services 2026
The migration of subscriptions from Tele2 to Telia will be carried out in two stages: on 10 March (00:00 to 07:00) and 11 March (00:00 to 07:00). There will be a short interruption in each subscription at the point when the migration takes place.
The subscriptions migration in the early hours of 10 March concerns all those on the campus in Lund and at CRC in Malmö.
The subscriptions migration in the early hours of 11 March concerns the Malmö Art Academy Malmö Academy of Music, Malmö Theatre Academy, Campus Helsingborg and the School of Aviation in Ljungbyhed.
Information for those using an eSIM
If you have an eSIM, it will be delivered around 5 March, but wait to install it in your telephone. You must install it in your phone either the evening before or the morning after the migration.
When your new eSIM from Telia works, it is important to remove the old Tele2 eSIM from your telephone – otherwise it can disrupt Telia’s eSIM.
BioRender now more widely available
BioRender is a web-based tool for creating scientific graphics, mainly within life science. It has previously been available via the Faculty of Medicine, but there is now a common licence model for the entire University. All those interested can apply for a licence in Lucat, regardless of whether or not they have previously had access to the tool.

Box Sync to close down – but there is an alternative
Box Sync – the app that mirrors files from your LU Box cloud storage to the desktop of your computer – will be inactivated on 11 May 2026. This is happening because the company behind Box wants to bring everything together in a single desktop app, Box Drive. This provides better performance, higher security and the possibility of working directly in the entire Box structure without taking up local storage space.
If you use Box Sync, you can start using Box Drive instead. Guide: Log in to Box Drive.
If you do not have a “managed” computer, i.e. a pre-packaged LU computer, you can find Box Drive here:box.com
LU Box – app in Teams
You can get a better overview of your files by adding Box in Teams. You can then share and access Box content direct from Microsoft Teams without needing to switch between programs.

Viva Learning – a learning hub in Teams
Viva Learning, Microsoft’s learning hub, brings together courses and educational material from several sources. It is an element in Microsoft 365, and you can have it as an app in Teams to make everything searchable and accessible from there.
There are already courses in English available in Viva Learning on, for example, many of the apps in the Microsoft 365 package, but there is scope for developing this a lot more. Why not get started and explore the possibilities?
How to find Viva Learning:
- Open Teams.
- Look at the list on the left.
- Click on the three dots … and search for Viva Learning, if you don’t see the Viva Learning app icon on the list.
