After the first six months as a pro vice-chancellor, in which a considerable part of the time has been spent orientating myself in the organisation and the new duties, things are starting to fall into place. I can now start to devote more energy to the development projects we want to drive forward.
One such development project is the University’s range of programmes in a changing world, where new demands are being made for both content and format. Lena Eskilsson, Kristina Eneroth and I have jointly started to formulate overall ideas on how LU can work as a broad university, involving lifelong learning, internationalisation and digitalisation.
This is a major job in a period of upheaval where we need to look at our courses and study programmes from a range of new perspectives. A lot of other activities are in progress; not least the newly established Higher Education Development Council will begin its work, which we hope will further intensify the focus on common needs within teaching and learning in higher education.
