Theme for the 2026 call: A sustainable food chain – from farm to fork

This year's call focuses on projects that strengthen the entire food chain – from production and transport to processing and storage. Particular emphasis is placed on good water supply and increased crisis preparedness, with sustainability as a common thread throughout the process.

The theme takes its starting point from some of the greatest societal challenges of our time: climate change, the need for strengthened crisis preparedness and skills supply.

The call is also in line with the government's Food Strategy 2.0, which highlights three important focus areas:

  • increased robustness in the food chain
  • export promotion efforts
  • investments in Swedish quality and gastronomy.
