Since it was established, Campus Helsingborg has developed from being an ambitious initiative into an important part of Lund University and a base for 4,000 students and around 150 employees. It has a clear profile: a place for innovative thought and interdisciplinary collaborations. By building bridges to both local and global companies, Campus Helsingborg has developed courses, programmes and research projects that make a difference in both the local community and a broader international context.
“Our first 25 years have given us a stable foundation, but we also know that we must be bold and think innovatively in order to meet the challenges of the future. The world around us is changing rapidly, and we need to be flexible, innovative and ready to test new formats for both research and education,” says Charlotta Johnsson, dean of Campus Helsingborg, Lund University.
Renewed collaboration agreement with Helsingborg Municipality
A major event that kicks off the jubilee year takes place on 15 January, when Vice-Chancellor Erik Renström and the chair of Helsingborg’s Municipal Council, Christian Orsing, will sign a new strategic partnership agreement that further strengthens the collaboration between the University and the city. The new collaboration agreement will show the way for the next five years to promote development within a number of areas. This work will focus on aspects such as Helsingborg as a student city, innovation and pioneering, as well as increased local and global visibility.
“We have had a good collaboration with Helsingborg Municipality for many years and with the new agreement in place we will gain more dynamism and direction in our joint work. This will benefit Helsingborg, Lund University and Campus Helsingborg,” says Charlotta Johnsson.
Jubilee day in October
The jubilee year will draw attention to both past achievements and what awaits in the future. A number of activities and public events will be organised during the year including a lecture series that will highlight current research. The highpoint of the celebrations will be on 10 October 2025 – a jubilee day that will include speeches, panel discussions and festivities for staff, students, alumni and invited guests.
