Telephony: New mobile phone subscriptions after 11 March 2026
Lund University is implementing a change of supplier for telephony services. The transition to the new supplier, Telia, will take place on 10 and 11 March 2026. Initially, there will be four types of subscription to choose from:
- Standard (mobile phone)
- Freestanding mobile phone
- Softphone
- IP telephony
Once the transition is complete, there will be more options available.
A more detailed description of the various subscriptions and a price list can be viewed here: Change of telephony provider 2026
Work is underway on quality assurance for subscriptions at Lund University. Do all employees have the correct subscriptions? A mailshot with instructions to heads of faculty offices, heads of division and equivalents was sent out in early November.
The new portal for support and cases will open soon
On 1 December, the new portal for support and cases, Supportcenter, will open. There, you will find guides and log cases relating to various services including IT, finances and HR. The portal will be very simple at launch, but will be developed quickly.
You can log into the portal for support and cases: supportcenter.lu.se (from 1 December). Use your LU account to log in.
Here is how to choose language settings in Supportcenter.
- Go to supportcenter.lu.se
- Click on the circle in the top right-hand corner.
- A dropdown menu will appear. Choose your preferred language, Swedish or English.
For “Agents” in the case management system, access is via scagent.lu.se. Agents are currently receiving training on the tool. Contact Servicedesk if you have any questions about being an agent.
The 2G and 3G networks are being switched off – what you need to know
On 1 December 2025, the 2G and 3G mobile networks will be switched off in Sweden. The University’s current telephony supplier, Tele2, has identified a risk that it will not be possible to make calls with certain mobile phones when the network is shut down. This may be because the phones lack the capacity for calls over the 4G network (VoLTE).
Check if your phone supports 4G calls
Call 225 to see if your phone calls over 4G. If you happen to be in an area covered only by 3G, you might be told that the call is being carried over 2G/3G, even if the phone supports 4G.
Affected users will receive a text message from Tele2.
